About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and strategic Head of Biostatistics to lead their biostatistics function from a remote setting. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all statistical aspects of clinical development, ensuring the integrity and validity of data analyses that underpin regulatory submissions and clinical decision-making. You will manage a team of talented biostatisticians, set departmental strategy, and collaborate closely with clinical development, data management, and regulatory affairs. Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the biostatistics department, managing a team of biostatisticians and statistical programmers.
• Oversee the design and analysis of clinical trials, ensuring statistical rigor and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Develop statistical analysis plans (SAPs), perform complex statistical analyses, and interpret results for clinical study reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define key statistical considerations for study design and data interpretation.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in statistical methodology and regulatory expectations, implementing best practices across the department.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in biostatistics within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in statistical methodologies for clinical trial design and analysis, including experience with various statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, R).
• Proven ability to manage complex projects, lead teams, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing statistical sections of regulatory submission documents.
