About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Data Science to lead their advanced analytics initiatives from their Sheffield headquarters. This critical role involves building and managing a team of data scientists, defining the data science strategy, and driving the development and deployment of machine learning models and advanced analytics solutions. You will play a key role in leveraging data to uncover insights, optimize business processes, and create new data-driven products and services. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the data science team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and strategic direction.
• Develop and implement the company's overall data science strategy and roadmap.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and analytical solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making and process optimization.
• Ensure the quality, integrity, and ethical use of data across the organization.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in data science or machine learning, with a proven track record of leading successful teams and projects.
• Strong expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
