Head of Datacomms

Job Title: Head of Datacomms Location: London / South East Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 Are you an experienced Head of Datacomms based in London or the South East looking for your next opportunity? As a Head of Datacomms, you will be responsible for leading the technical delivery and commercial performance of Day 2 datacomms and structured cabling works, managing moves, adds, changes and remedial projects across prestigious commercial estates and live, business-critical environments. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality managed IT and infrastructure solutions to its customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Day 2 datacomms works, including moves, adds, changes and remedial projects across live and occupied environments.
• Oversee planning, scheduling, permits, method statements and change control to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
• Manage blown fibre design, installation, testing and commissioning, reviewing test results, as-built documentation and technical submissions.
• Manage estimating, variations, cost control and margin protection, supporting tenders and pre-sales activity with technical input and risk assessments.
• Lead, develop and manage engineers, site teams and subcontractors, acting as the escalation point for technical and delivery issues.
• Maintain strong client, contractor and consultant relationships while promoting high standards of health and safety, including CDM compliance. Experience and Certifications required:
• Significant senior experience delivering datacomms and structured cabling works, including proven Day 2 and live environment delivery.
• Strong knowledge of blown fibre systems from design through to commissioning, alongside familiarity with AV, unified communications and network infrastructure.
• Commercial experience covering variations, cost control and margin management, with a good understanding of construction and subcontract contracts.
• Strong leadership, communication and client-facing skills, with confidence providing technical advice to senior stakeholders.
• SMSTS and CNIDP required.
• Excel, CommScope, Panduit or equivalent manufacturer accreditation, or CFOT / equivalent fibre certification (desirable). Please apply with an up-to-date CV for more information. We can only accept candidates who have the Right To Work in the UK
