Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and inspire the English Literature department, setting clear academic goals and fostering a collaborative culture.
• Develop and oversee an innovative and challenging curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
• Conduct performance management and provide professional development opportunities for departmental staff.
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies to enhance achievement and engagement in literature studies.
• Oversee the allocation of resources within the department and manage its budget effectively.
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives and strategic planning, representing the English Literature department.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in English Literature or a related field, with a postgraduate qualification being advantageous.
• Significant experience teaching English Literature at secondary level, with demonstrable leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of teachers.
• Deep understanding of curriculum development and assessment in English Literature.
