About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced educator to take on the role of Head of Department for English Literature at a highly-regarded secondary school in Southampton . This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the curriculum, staff, and academic standards of the English Literature department, fostering a passion for literary study among students. Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and inspire the English Literature teaching team to achieve departmental goals.
• Develop and implement a challenging and engaging English Literature curriculum for all key stages.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• A relevant degree in English Literature or a closely related field.
• Significant experience teaching English Literature at secondary level, with some leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
• Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment strategies.
