About the Role

Our client seeks a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Head of Department for Science in Belfast . This senior role is responsible for leading the science faculty, ensuring the delivery of an outstanding science curriculum across all key stages. You will inspire teaching staff, foster a passion for scientific inquiry among students, and manage departmental resources effectively. This is a critical position that requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of science education, and a commitment to fostering academic excellence within a vibrant school setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and motivate the science teaching staff to achieve departmental goals.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of an innovative and engaging science curriculum .
• Ensure high standards of teaching and learning within the science department, monitoring student progress.
• Manage the departmental budget, resources, and facilities effectively.

Requirements

• A degree in a relevant Science discipline and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a secondary school science department.
• Strong understanding of current pedagogical approaches in science education.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with curriculum design and assessment strategies in STEM subjects.
