Head of Fitness and Wellness

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Head of Fitness and Wellness to lead their health and fitness operations in Leeds . This is a key leadership role within the Leisure & Sports sector, responsible for setting the strategic direction for all fitness programs, facilities, and wellness initiatives. You will be instrumental in creating an inspiring and effective environment that promotes healthy lifestyles and achieves ambitious membership and revenue targets. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for fitness, a strong understanding of business management, and the ability to motivate a diverse team of fitness professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for fitness programming, operational efficiency, and member engagement.
• Oversee the management and development of fitness staff, including personal trainers, instructors, and support personnel.
• Manage the fitness and wellness budget, ensuring profitability and optimal resource allocation.
• Introduce innovative fitness trends and wellness programs to meet evolving member needs and market demands.
• Ensure all fitness operations comply with health and safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of customer service.
• Drive membership sales and retention through effective marketing and high-quality program delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Sports Management, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in fitness management, with a proven track record of success.
• Extensive knowledge of fitness principles, exercise science, and various training methodologies.
• Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&Ls.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with members and staff in Leeds .
