About the Role

Our client is seeking an inspirational and organised Head of Geography to lead their vibrant Geography department in Reading . This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher to take on a leadership role, driving excellence in geography education across secondary school levels. You will be responsible for curriculum development, staff leadership, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences for all students. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Geography department, setting strategic direction and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement a stimulating and comprehensive Geography curriculum.
• Manage, mentor, and support Geography teachers and support staff within the department.
• Monitor student progress and attainment, implementing strategies to improve outcomes.
• Promote student engagement with geographical issues and fieldwork opportunities.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Geography or a related field.
• Proven experience in teaching Geography at secondary level, with some leadership experience desirable.
• Strong knowledge of the current Geography curriculum and assessment methods.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
