About the Role

Our client is seeking an inspirational and dynamic Head of Mathematics Department to lead the faculty at a leading secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and inspire the Mathematics Department , setting clear goals and expectations for staff and students.
• Develop and implement an innovative and engaging mathematics curriculum that promotes deep understanding and exam success.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, providing constructive feedback and support to staff.
• Analyse data to track student progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement targeted interventions.
• Manage departmental resources effectively and contribute to school-wide strategic planning and policy development.
• Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community to support student engagement and achievement.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a related field.
• Significant experience in teaching mathematics at secondary level, with a proven track record of raising student attainment.
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience, preferably within a Head of Department role.
• Excellent understanding of current educational trends and assessment strategies in mathematics.
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
