Job Description
Location & Salary
Hybrid role with travel to central London at least 2 days a week. Salary £85-95k per annum plus up to 15% performance bonus.
Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership to the client accounting, service‑charge and banking administration teams.
- Foster a high‑performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability and customer service.
- Build and develop a best‑in‑class team to meet required KPIs and uphold reporting standards.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure client accounts are prepared on schedule to meet KPIs and statutory deadlines.
- Act as the primary finance contact for internal departments and external clients regarding contract performance and reporting.
- Collaborate with operational teams to align finance with service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with housing regulations, financial governance standards and internal controls; stay up‑to‑date on legislation and accounting policy changes.
- Support internal and external audits related to client accounts and income collection.
- Champion financial systems and data analytics to support team performance and provide clients with insights.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Strong understanding of housing finance and service‑charge accounting.
- Proven leadership experience in a finance role within the housing, property or public sector, ideally with knowledge of social housing governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of housing regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Experience preparing, analysing and implementing accounting and reporting requirements.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and time‑management skills to meet changing priorities and demands.
- Strong business‑partnering and communication skills with non‑finance stakeholders.
- Effective facilitation and communication at all organisational levels.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, deliver results accurately and adapt to changing priorities.
- Skill in influencing stakeholders, managing conflict and recognising when escalation is needed.
- Self‑starter with a strong sense of urgency and delivery focus.
