Head of Procurement

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Head of Procurement to lead their strategic sourcing and purchasing functions from a remote location, supporting their operations with a significant presence in Glasgow . This senior leadership role is responsible for defining and implementing the company's overall procurement strategy, driving significant cost savings, ensuring supply chain resilience, and fostering strong supplier relationships. You will lead a team of procurement professionals, manage a substantial budget, and work closely with executive leadership to align procurement activities with corporate objectives. This is a fully remote position, requiring exceptional leadership and communication skills to manage teams and stakeholders effectively across distances.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and refine the company's global procurement strategy, policies, and procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to achieve departmental goals and foster professional growth.
• Oversee all aspects of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier management, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the procurement function, monitoring progress and driving continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with C-suite executives and department heads to understand strategic needs and ensure procurement alignment.
• Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure business continuity through robust supplier diversification and contingency planning.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in a senior procurement leadership role, such as Head of Procurement or Director of Supply Chain.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful global procurement strategies that deliver substantial cost savings and value.
• Strong experience in managing large, complex, and diverse supplier contracts and negotiations.
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and motivational skills, particularly in a remote setting.
• Deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, risk management, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is highly desirable.
