Head of Risk Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced leader to serve as the Head of Risk Management in their Oxford office. This senior role involves overseeing all aspects of the company's risk management framework, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks across the organization. You will develop and implement comprehensive risk strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the company's assets, reputation, and regulatory compliance. This is a critical leadership position requiring a deep understanding of financial risk, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels within a structured, office-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the overall enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize key risks facing the organization, including financial, operational, strategic, and compliance risks.
• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize potential negative impacts.
• Develop and oversee risk reporting to senior management, the board of directors, and regulatory bodies.
• Lead and mentor the risk management team, fostering a strong risk-aware culture throughout the organization.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and legal requirements pertaining to risk.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in risk management, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive ERM frameworks .
• In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, financial modeling, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable risk management strategies.
