About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary and accomplished Head of Sports Performance to lead their elite performance programmes, operating remotely and supporting athletes and teams worldwide. This senior role is responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge strategies in sports science, strength and conditioning, and injury prevention to optimise athletic potential. You will guide a team of specialist coaches and practitioners, utilising data analytics and innovative technologies to drive performance gains. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sports performance strategy encompassing strength and conditioning, biomechanics, nutrition, and psychology.
- Lead and mentor a team of high-calibre sports scientists, strength coaches, and performance analysts.
- Utilise advanced data analytics and technology to monitor athlete progress, identify performance trends, and inform training interventions.
- Oversee the design and execution of bespoke training programmes tailored to the needs of individual athletes and teams.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and innovations in sports science and performance to ensure best practices are adopted.
- Collaborate with medical staff to implement robust injury prevention and rehabilitation protocols.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in a senior sports performance or sports science leadership role, preferably within professional or elite sport.
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing performance enhancement programmes for athletes.
- Expert knowledge of strength and conditioning principles, biomechanics, and physiology.
- Proficiency in utilising sports performance analysis software and data management systems.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a closely related field; advanced certifications are essential.
