About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary and experienced Head of Sports Performance to lead their elite performance programmes in Oxford . This leadership role operates on a hybrid basis, requiring strategic oversight and remote coordination, alongside crucial on-site engagement with athletes and support staff. You will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge performance strategies to optimize athlete potential, enhance injury prevention, and drive competitive success. This is a pivotal position for an individual passionate about sports science, coaching methodologies, and athlete development at the highest level. Your leadership will shape the future of athletic achievement within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the sports performance department.
- Develop and implement comprehensive athlete development plans, focusing on physical conditioning, recovery, and nutrition.
- Oversee and mentor a multidisciplinary team of sports scientists, strength and conditioning coaches, and physiotherapists.
- Utilize data analytics and performance monitoring tools to track progress and inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to integrate performance strategies into training and competition.
- Ensure the highest standards of athlete welfare, injury prevention, and rehabilitation protocols are maintained.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within sports performance or elite sports science.
- A postgraduate degree in Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful performance programmes for athletes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of sports science principles, including biomechanics, physiology, and nutrition.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing remote teams and on-site operations.
