Head of Wind Energy Operations (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and strategic Head of Wind Energy Operations to lead their expanding wind power portfolio. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to manage operations from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation and maintenance of all wind farms, ensuring optimal energy generation, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with all industry standards. This leadership role requires a visionary individual who can drive operational excellence, implement innovative strategies, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across a geographically dispersed team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of the company's wind farm assets , ensuring maximum uptime and energy output.
• Develop and implement long-term operational strategies, including maintenance schedules, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Lead and manage a team of regional operations managers and technical specialists, providing guidance and support.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Manage relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve asset reliability.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in managing operations within the wind energy sector , with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale wind farm portfolios.
• Deep understanding of wind turbine technology, SCADA systems, and O&M best practices.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing significant operational budgets.
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
