About the Role
Our client, a prestigious sports club in Brighton , is seeking a highly experienced and passionate Head Swim Coach to lead their competitive swimming program. This senior role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive training strategy for swimmers of all ages and abilities, from junior development to elite athletes. You will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and inspiring the swimming team, fostering a positive and performance-driven culture. This is a key position within the club, aiming to enhance competitive success and promote aquatic sports participation in the East Sussex region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term strategic training plans for the competitive swimming program.
- Coach swimmers of all levels, providing technical instruction, skill development, and motivational support.
- Oversee and mentor assistant swim coaches, ensuring consistency in coaching philosophy and standards.
- Plan and manage training schedules, including pool time allocation and dry-land conditioning programs.
- Monitor swimmer progress, analyze performance data, and adapt training as necessary.
- Represent the club at swimming competitions, ensuring smooth logistics and athlete support.
- Promote a positive team culture focused on discipline, sportsmanship, and personal bests.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a qualified swimming coach, with a proven track record of developing athletes.
- Current Swim England (or equivalent) coaching qualifications at a high level.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of swimming techniques, training methodologies, and sports science principles.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of coaches and athletes.
- Valid DBS check and First Aid certification.
