About the Role

Our client, a distinguished fine dining restaurant in the heart of Oxford , is seeking an elegant and experienced Head Waiter / Waitress to lead their front-of-house team. You will be instrumental in ensuring an exceptional guest experience, overseeing service standards, and mentoring waiting staff. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the waiting staff during service, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
• Train new team members on service standards, menu knowledge, and fine dining etiquette.
• Ensure tables are prepared and set correctly according to restaurant standards.
• Assist guests with menu selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations on food and wine pairings.
• Handle guest enquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
• Liaise with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and maintain service flow.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Head Waiter , Maître d', or Senior Waiter in a high-end restaurant.
• Extensive knowledge of fine dining service , etiquette, and food & beverage operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively under pressure.
• A polished and professional demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service.
• Experience with POS systems and reservation management is desirable.
