Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures for mining operations.
• Conduct regular site risk assessments and inspections, identifying hazards and recommending control measures.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
• Provide advice and training to employees on health and safety matters.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
• Maintain safety records, prepare reports, and manage safety management systems.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organization.

Requirements

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and conduct remote site support.
• Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
