Health & Safety Advisor - Part Time

Have you previously worked for a subcontractor as a H&S Advisor?

Location: Somerset Rate: £350 per day OUTSIDE IR35 Duration: 7 months + Hours: 7:00am - 4:30pm Start: ASAP

A specialist construction contractor is looking for a Part-Time Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of a major EV battery gigafactory project in Bridgwater.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a large-scale construction project, providing hands-on H&S support across the site. There is also potential for the successful candidate to move onto a further 2-year project in Wiltshire following completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day Health & Safety support across the project.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance checks.
• Review RAMS and other project documentation.
• Deliver toolbox talks, briefings and workforce engagement.
• Support the project team with risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and challenge unsafe practices.
• Support incident reporting and investigations where required.
• Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across site.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years' construction H&S experience.
• Experience working on reasonably sized commercial construction projects.
• Groundworks and/or externals experience, including drainage, paving or landscaping.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• CSCS Card.

Desirable Requirements:

• 5-8 years' construction H&S experience.
• Previous experience working for a subcontractor.
• Data centre, factory or large-scale commercial construction experience.
• NCRQ Level 6.
• First Aid qualification.

Based on the pipeline of projects for this specialist contractor, there is a likelihood of the role moving full time in the new year.
