Health and Safety Advisor (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor to provide expert guidance and support to their construction projects on a fully remote basis. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring robust health and safety management systems to ensure a safe working environment across all sites. This remote position requires a proactive approach to risk management, excellent communication skills to engage with site teams virtually, and a deep understanding of current HSE legislation. Your expertise will be crucial in fostering a strong safety culture and minimizing incidents throughout project lifecycles, working from anywhere in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures for construction sites.
• Conduct remote risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits, reporting findings and recommending improvements.
• Investigate accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Provide health and safety advice and training to site personnel and management.
• Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and client requirements.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records and prepare relevant reports for management.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor within the construction industry.
• NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is essential.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and reporting skills, adapted for remote working.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
• Experience with safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
