Job Description
Health & Safety Advisor – HS2
Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Worcester / West Midlands
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + package
Job Type: Permanent
Project: HS2
We’re looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a well-established contractor working on major HS2 infrastructure works around the Worcester area.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being out on site, working closely with project teams and subcontractors, and having a real influence on how health & safety is managed day to day.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for providing hands-on H&S support across the project, making sure the works are being delivered safely, compliantly and to the required standards.
The role will include:
* Carrying out regular site inspections and audits
* Providing practical H&S advice to site management and the workforce
* Monitoring RAMS and ensuring they are being followed
* Supporting incident and near-miss investigations
* Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings
* Monitoring subcontractor H&S performance
* Identifying hazards and helping implement suitable control measures
* Supporting the project team with H&S documentation and compliance
* Promoting a positive safety culture across the site
* Working closely with the wider H&S team and project management
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong construction or civil engineering background.
Ideally, you’ll have:
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
* Relevant construction H&S experience
* Experience working on major infrastructure / civils projects
* Strong knowledge of CDM and current H&S legislation
* Good communication skills and the confidence to challenge unsafe practices
* A practical, hands-on approach rather than being purely office based
* CSCS / relevant H&S card
* HS2 experience would be a major advantage
What's on Offer?
This is a permanent position with a major project, offering long-term stability and the opportunity to work on one of the UK's biggest infrastructure programmes.
If you're an experienced H&S Advisor looking for your next permanent opportunity and want to get involved with a major HS2 project in the Worcester area, we'd be keen to hear from you
