Health and Safety Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives for their construction projects in and around Bristol . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust health and safety management systems to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. This role is pivotal in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures across all project sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and project teams on all safety-related matters.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records and performance statistics.

Requirements

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Significant experience in a dedicated Health and Safety role within the construction industry.
• Thorough knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop method statements effectively.
• Registered member of IOSH (or equivalent professional body).
