Role: Health & Safety Manager (Utilities / Civils)
Location: Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire
Duration: 6 Months
Start Date: 1st September
Rate: £350 – £420/day (Inside IR35) / £380 – £450/day (Outside IR35) – (Select IR35 Status)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager for a 6-month contract on a major substation project in Hull.
You will lead site health, safety, and environmental compliance, working closely with the project delivery team to maintain the highest safety standards during heavy civil engineering and infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily site H&S compliance, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) specific to substation and civil engineering works.
- Conduct regular site audits, toolbox talks, and safety inductions.
- Liaise with site management, principal contractors, and clients to align with DNO / National Grid safety standards.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure prompt reporting and corrective actions.
Essential Requirements
- Qualifications: NEBOSH Construction Certificate or General Certificate (Diploma / CMIOSH preferred).
- Certifications: CSCS card.
- Experience: Proven track record in substation and civils / utilities projects.
- Deep working knowledge of CDM regulations and high-voltage site safety frameworks.
