Health and Safety Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Manager to champion safety excellence across their construction operations in Nottingham . This critical role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, reporting findings and implementing corrective actions.
• Provide expert advice and training on health and safety matters to all levels of staff.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the HSE, to ensure all legal requirements are met.
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization and on all construction sites.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager or Officer in the construction sector.
• Relevant professional qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and construction best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Ability to conduct effective risk assessments and develop control measures.
• Experience in developing and delivering safety training programmes.
