About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Reading . In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment across all construction sites and company operations. You will develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, and promote a strong safety culture. This position is crucial for maintaining compliance and protecting the well-being of all personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, making recommendations for corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety training to staff and contractors.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Relevant qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and training skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
