Health and Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment across all their construction sites in and around Stoke-on-Trent . You will be responsible for implementing and enforcing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and delivering training to site personnel. This crucial role requires a proactive approach to hazard identification and prevention, promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organisation. Your commitment to safeguarding workers will be paramount in this hands-on position.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety plans for all construction sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
• Deliver health and safety training to employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate records of safety procedures, training, and incidents.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Relevant qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation (HSE).
• Excellent communication, observational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to effectively engage with site teams and management.
• Proficient in risk assessment and method statement development.
