Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and deep cleaning of patient rooms, wards, operating theatres, and common areas according to strict healthcare standards.
• Implement specialised disinfection and sterilisation procedures for medical equipment and surfaces.
• Manage waste disposal, including clinical and hazardous waste, in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure all cleaning activities meet infection prevention and control guidelines.
• Operate and maintain specialised cleaning equipment, including sterilisers and fogging machines.
• Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, procedures followed, and any deviations or incidents.

Requirements

• Previous experience in healthcare cleaning or a similar environment requiring high hygiene standards.
• Thorough understanding of infection control principles, COSHH, and healthcare-specific cleaning protocols.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
• Must be able to work flexibly, including shifts and weekends as required in Portsmouth .
