Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV 2 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Class 2 truck, delivering goods efficiently and reliably to various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery will ensure our customers receive their orders on time while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate an HGV 2 vehicle, adhering to all road safety and traffic regulations at all times
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure optimal safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery confirmations
- Communicate clearly with dispatch teams regarding delivery statuses or any issues encountered during routes
- Follow all company policies related to health and safety, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and others
Job Details
- Monday - Friday
- 05:00 am starts (8-10 hour days)
- Temp-Perm
- No weekends
- £18.75 per hour
Requirements
- Valid HGV 2 (Class C) license with no more than 6 penalty points
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with delivery operations
- Familiarity with flatbed transportation and securing loads safely during transit
- Strong understanding of driving regulations and road safety protocols
- Excellent time management skills to meet tight delivery schedules
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo when necessary
- Good communication skills for effective coordination with team members and clients
