HGV Class 1 ADR Driver

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 ADR Driver to join their specialised transport division operating out of Reading . This role is pivotal for the safe and compliant transportation of hazardous materials across the UK. You will be responsible for managing your routes efficiently, ensuring all ADR regulations are strictly followed, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and security. The successful candidate will possess a valid ADR certificate in relevant classes and a strong understanding of handling dangerous goods, contributing to our client's reputation for excellence and safety in a demanding sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle carrying hazardous materials (ADR).
• Ensure all loads are correctly secured and placarded according to ADR regulations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections, paying close attention to safety equipment.
• Adhere strictly to all ADR regulations, driving hours, and company safety policies.
• Plan routes efficiently while considering the specific requirements for transporting dangerous goods.
• Maintain clear communication with the transport office and emergency services if required.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license .
• Valid ADR Certificate (Packages) in relevant classes.
• Current Driver CPC card and digital tachograph card.
• Proven experience driving HGV vehicles, with specific experience in ADR transport.
• Excellent knowledge of ADR regulations and safety procedures.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergencies.
