HGV Class 1 Driver - General Haulage

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and professional HGV Class 1 Driver for general haulage operations based in Wolverhampton . This role involves transporting a variety of goods across the UK, ensuring efficient and timely deliveries. You will be responsible for the safe operation of your vehicle, maintaining accurate records, and representing the company with professionalism. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and possesses excellent driving skills, contributing to the reliable logistics network in the West Midlands .

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle for long-distance and local haulage jobs.
• Ensure safe loading and unloading of goods, securing cargo appropriately.
• Adhere strictly to all driving regulations, including Working Time Directive and speed limits.
• Conduct thorough vehicle checks before and after each shift, reporting any issues.
• Maintain accurate delivery notes and any other required documentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service during delivery and collection processes.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving license .
• Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Class 1 Driver in general haulage.
• A clean driving record with no disqualifications.
• Familiarity with UK road networks and logistics operations.
• Strong communication skills and a responsible attitude.
