HGV Class 1 Driver - General Haulage

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and professional HGV Class 1 Driver for general haulage operations based in Oxford . This role involves the transportation of a variety of goods to locations across the UK, requiring punctuality, efficiency, and a commitment to safe driving practices. You will be operating a modern fleet vehicle and will be a key link in our client's supply chain, ensuring deliveries are made on time and in full. The ideal candidate will possess a valid HGV Class 1 license , a clean driving record, and excellent knowledge of UK road networks, contributing to a positive company image with every delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle for nationwide deliveries and collections.
• Ensure all loads are safely secured and compliant with transport regulations.
• Perform routine vehicle checks, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
• Adhere strictly to driving hours regulations (tachograph) and company policies.
• Maintain effective communication with the dispatch team and provide updates on delivery status.
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and the public.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license .
• Current Driver CPC card and digital tachograph card.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as an HGV Class 1 driver.
• Clean driving record with no major endorsements.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
