HGV Class 1 Driver - General Haulage

About the Role

Our client is looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join their busy haulage operation based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, adhering to strict delivery schedules and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the cargo and the optimal performance of your vehicle. Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle safely and compliantly, adhering to all driving regulations and tachograph requirements.
• Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely and secure deliveries.
• Conduct thorough vehicle checks, including loading and securing of cargo, and report any defects immediately.
• Maintain clear communication with the dispatch team regarding delivery status, delays, and any issues encountered.
• Uphold the company's reputation through professional conduct and customer interaction at delivery points.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license.
• Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification and valid digital tachograph card.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience driving HGV Class 1 vehicles.
• Good knowledge of UK road networks, particularly the Newcastle upon Tyne area.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
