HGV Class 1 Driver - Long Haul

About the Role

Our client is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for long-haul routes operating out of our Milton Keynes hub. This role is vital for ensuring the efficient movement of goods across the UK, requiring a professional driver with excellent road safety skills and a commitment to timely deliveries. You will be responsible for transporting a variety of products, ensuring secure loading and unloading, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism on the road. Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle for long-distance transportation of goods.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and its load.
• Adhere strictly to all tachograph regulations, working time directives, and driving laws.
• Securely load and unload cargo, ensuring all items are properly stowed and protected.
• Maintain effective communication with the dispatch team and report any issues or delays encountered en route.
• Represent the company professionally during all interactions with clients and the public.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.
• Current Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) card.
• Valid Digi-Tacho card.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience driving HGV Class 1 vehicles.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence for traffic offences.
• Understanding of UK road networks and logistics operations, particularly around the Milton Keynes area.
