HGV Class 1 Driver - Trunking

About the Role

Our client in Norwich is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to undertake trunking work across the UK. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods between distribution centers, operating primarily on long-distance routes. This role requires a professional who is self-motivated, adheres to strict regulations, and can manage their time effectively to ensure timely arrivals. The successful candidate will be a key part of the logistics chain, ensuring a smooth flow of products.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle for trunking operations between various depots.
• Ensure the safe loading, securing, and transportation of goods.
• Adhere strictly to tachograph regulations and working time directives.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and logs.
• Communicate effectively with transport planners and depot staff.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence .
• Current Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Proven experience as a Class 1 driver, ideally with trunking experience.
• Good knowledge of UK road networks.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, including potential overnight stays.
