HGV Class 1 Driver

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for their fleet operations based in Wolverhampton . This role involves long-distance hauling and timely delivery of goods across various regions. You will be responsible for the safe operation of articulated vehicles, ensuring compliance with all driving regulations and company policies. This is a demanding but rewarding position for a skilled professional driver who values punctuality, road safety, and operational excellence in the West Midlands transport sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles for trunking and delivery routes, ensuring timely and safe transport of goods.
• Conduct meticulous pre-drive and post-drive vehicle inspections, reporting any issues immediately.
• Adhere to all driving hours regulations (tacho rules) and company policies.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of freight, maintaining load integrity.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch and relevant stakeholders.
• Keep the vehicle clean and presentable at all times.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving license.
• Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid digital tachograph card.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an HGV Class 1 driver.
• Proven ability to drive safely and efficiently across long distances.
• Knowledge of the UK road network, with familiarity of the West Midlands .
