About the Role

Our client requires a dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver to operate from their depot in Newcastle upon Tyne . This position is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe transportation of goods across the UK. You will be responsible for long-haul routes, adhering to strict delivery schedules and compliance regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience driving large commercial vehicles, a commitment to safety, and the professionalism to represent the company effectively on the road. Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle safely and compliantly on designated routes.
• Conduct thorough vehicle checks before and after each shift, reporting any defects.
• Ensure accurate completion of all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes and tachograph records.
• Adhere to working time directive regulations and ensure prompt delivery of goods.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and report any incidents or accidents immediately.
• Liaise with transport managers and warehouse staff regarding loading and unloading schedules.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) license.
• Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification and a valid digital tachograph card.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Class 1 driver.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your driving license.
• Thorough understanding of UK driving regulations and tachograph laws.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
