Job Description
Rapier Employment is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver for a full‑time, temporary role based in Darlington. This position involves night shifts starting between 15:00 and 21:00, with a weekend preference, paying £19.03 per hour plus a £11.45 shift uplift between midnight and 04:00.
Responsibilities
- Deliver to RDCs and stores.
- Unload store deliveries using tail lift and cages.
- Conduct vehicle checks.
- Work night shifts 15:00 – 21:00; Monday to Sunday, with a £11.45 uplift for shifts between midnight and 04:00.
Qualifications
- Hold an HGV C+E licence for at least six months.
- Have at least three months of commercial driving experience.
- Clean licence with no DR10, CD10 or IN10 endorsements.
- Digital Tachograph Card and CPC qualification.
- Physical stamina for manual handling of cages and tail‑lift work.
- Proven ability to work night shifts.
- Can do attitude.
This long‑term ongoing role is suitable for candidates who are comfortable with physical tasks and night driving.
