About the Role

Our client requires a qualified and dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver to join their operations based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves the safe and efficient transport of goods to various destinations, ensuring all deliveries are completed on schedule. You will be a crucial part of the supply chain, operating modern fleet vehicles and adhering to all traffic and transportation regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism on the road.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating HGV Class 1 vehicles for scheduled long-haul and regional deliveries.
• Ensuring the safe loading, securing, and unloading of cargo according to company policies and safety standards.
• Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects promptly.
• Adhering strictly to Working Time Directive regulations and maintaining accurate driver logs.
• Communicating effectively with the dispatch team and customers regarding delivery progress and any unforeseen circumstances.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the vehicle.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Cat C+E) driving license .
• Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC ) card.
• Digital Tachograph card.
• Proven experience as an HGV Class 1 driver, with a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with UK road networks and traffic laws.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
