About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join their logistics team in Leicester . This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods across the UK. You will be an integral part of a professional transport operation, maintaining high standards of service and adherence to all regulations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and efficiency, contributing to the smooth running of the supply chain for our client’s diverse customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle safely and efficiently for long-distance deliveries and collections.
• Conduct pre-departure and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects.
• Ensure accurate completion of all delivery notes, mileage logs, and other required documentation.
• Adhere strictly to tachograph regulations and working time directives.
• Maintain professional conduct and communication with clients, depot staff, and the wider public.
• Handle and secure loads appropriately to prevent damage or loss during transit.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Cat C+E) driving licence .
• Current Driver CPC card and digital tachograph card.
• Proven experience as a Class 1 driver, preferably with multi-drop experience.
• Excellent knowledge of UK road networks and traffic laws .
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
• A strong commitment to health and safety on the road and in the depot.
