HGV Class 1 Driver

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join their established transport division based in Coventry . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient movement of goods between distribution centres and client locations throughout the UK. You will be operating modern, well-maintained vehicles, responsible for timely collections and deliveries. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to manage their time effectively to meet delivery schedules. Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle safely and responsibly for national deliveries and collections.
• Ensure all goods are transported securely and delivered on time according to the assigned schedule.
• Perform routine checks on the vehicle and its load before, during, and after journeys.
• Adhere to all tachograph regulations and working time directives.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle cab and report any defects or issues promptly to the transport manager.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery points, maintaining the company's professional image.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) license .
• Current Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience driving HGV Class 1 vehicles.
• No more than 6 penalty points on your driving license for any driving offences.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
