HGV Class 1 Night Driver

About the Role

Our client requires an experienced HGV Class 1 Night Driver for their operations based in Sunderland . You will be responsible for trunking goods between distribution centers, operating primarily during nighttime hours. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth flow of goods and requires a dedicated professional who is comfortable with night shifts and long-distance driving. Adherence to safety regulations and efficient route management are paramount for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle for trunking operations, typically between depots.
• Ensure timely and safe collection and delivery of goods during night shifts.
• Conduct thorough vehicle checks before and after each shift.
• Comply with all tachograph laws and working time directive regulations.
• Maintain clear communication with the transport office and depot staff.
• Keep the vehicle clean and presentable at all times.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence .
• Current Driver CPC card.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Proven experience in long-haul or trunking roles.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during night shifts.
• Good knowledge of the UK road network.
