About the Role

Our client is seeking a competent HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to operate within their busy distribution centre in Norwich . This role involves moving trailers around the depot, loading and unloading goods efficiently, and ensuring smooth traffic flow within the site. You will play a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency and safety at the yard. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Class 1 driver looking for a role that focuses on yard operations rather than long-distance driving, based in Norfolk .

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle for shunting duties within the depot yard.
• Move trailers to and from loading bays, ensuring correct positioning for loading/unloading.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of goods when required.
• Maintain a safe and organized working environment within the depot.
• Perform regular checks on the shunting vehicle to ensure it is in good working order.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and other drivers to coordinate movements.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 license (Category C+E).
• Previous experience as an HGV driver, preferably with shunting experience.
• Understanding of safe shunting practices and depot operations.
• Good spatial awareness and maneuvering skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions accurately.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card are advantageous.
