HGV Class 2 Tramper Driver The Role

As an HGV Class 2 Tramper Driver , you will be based in Kettering and undertake long-distance distribution and multi-drop delivery routes to customer premises across Scotland .

You will be responsible for safely operating an HGV Class 2 / Category C vehicle , completing multiple deliveries and ensuring goods are delivered safely and on time.

The role involves working away from base as part of the tramping operation, with £35 nightly allowance provided for truck stop stays.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate an HGV Class 2 / Category C vehicle
• Complete long-distance deliveries from Kettering to Scotland
• Carry out multi-drop deliveries to restaurant and customer premises
• Load and unload goods safely
• Carry out manual handling and heavy lifting when required
• Complete daily vehicle walk-around and safety checks
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and tachograph records
• Comply fully with drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
• Plan and manage driving time and delivery schedules effectively
• Work independently while away from base
• Provide professional customer service at every delivery
• Report vehicle defects and other issues promptly
• Maintain the vehicle to a high standard

HGV Class 2 Driver Requirements

To be considered for this HGV Class 2 Tramper Driver position, you will need:

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 / Category C driving licence
• Maximum 3 penalty points
• No active DR or DD endorsements
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous commercial HGV Class 2 driving experience
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience is desirable
• Experience with long-distance driving is advantageous
• Good manual handling and physical fitness
• Strong time-management and organisational skills
• Professional attitude and excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently
• Willingness to work away from home as part of a tramping operation

The HGV Class 2 Tramper Driver will be based in Kettering and undertake long-distance delivery routes, with deliveries primarily across Scotland .

This is a permanent tramping position and applicants must be comfortable working away from home as required.
