About the Role

Our client is seeking a certified and experienced HGV Driver Class 1 to join their professional transport team based in Glasgow . This role is essential for the reliable movement of goods across Scotland and the wider UK. You will be responsible for operating large goods vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries and collections while adhering to all legal and company regulations. We are looking for a dedicated professional who takes pride in their work, maintains their vehicle meticulously, and contributes to the smooth operation of our logistics network, upholding our high standards of service and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle for long-distance deliveries and collections throughout Scotland and beyond.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring roadworthiness and reporting any defects immediately.
• Securely load and unload goods, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo safety.
• Adhere strictly to driving hours regulations (Working Time Directive) and tachograph requirements.
• Maintain clear communication with the dispatch team regarding route progress, delays, and any issues encountered.
• Represent the company professionally to clients and the public during delivery and collection points.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving license.
• Current Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) card.
• Valid UK tachograph card.
• Proven experience as an HGV Class 1 driver, preferably with experience in long-haul routes.
• Good knowledge of road networks across Scotland and the UK.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required for the role in Glasgow .
