HGV Driver - Class 1

About the Role

Our client is looking for a professional and safety-conscious HGV Driver (Class 1) to join their dedicated transport team in Stoke-on-Trent . You will be responsible for the timely and secure transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring all deliveries are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. This role requires a commitment to safe driving practices, excellent knowledge of the road network, and the ability to manage your schedule effectively. As a driver, you are a vital ambassador for our client, interacting with customers and representing their brand with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 1 HGV vehicle safely and efficiently in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
• Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs immediately.
• Manage delivery paperwork, including collection and delivery notes, ensuring accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle cab.
• Adhere to driving hour regulations and ensure accurate logging of working hours.

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 HGV driving license (Category C+E).
• Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification and Digi Tacho card.
• Proven experience as an HGV driver , preferably with experience in long-haul or multi-drop deliveries.
• Excellent driving skills and a strong understanding of road safety.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
