HGV Driver Class 1

About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Driver Class 1 to join their reputable transport company based in Edinburgh . This role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations within Scotland and potentially wider UK routes. You will be responsible for vehicle checks, loading and unloading goods, and ensuring all deliveries are completed within specified timeframes. The successful candidate will be a professional driver committed to upholding the highest standards of safety and customer service. This position offers regular routes and a supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 1 HGV vehicle in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs immediately.
• Load and unload goods securely and efficiently, ensuring the integrity of the cargo.
• Deliver goods to customers accurately and on time, maintaining clear communication with the dispatch team.
• Maintain accurate records of driving hours, delivery logs, and any incidents encountered.
• Represent the company professionally to clients and the public at all times.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Cat C+E) driving license .
• A current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card.
• Valid digital tachograph card.
• Proven experience as a Class 1 HGV driver, with a clean driving record.
• Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and driving best practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules in and around Edinburgh .
