HGV Driver - Class 1

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified HGV Driver (Class 1) to undertake regular trunking and delivery operations based out of Belfast . You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods across the UK, ensuring all deliveries are made on time and in perfect condition. This is a critical role within their operations, requiring a high level of professionalism and adherence to stringent safety regulations within the freight transport sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle safely and efficiently for long-distance haulage.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each journey.
• Securely load and unload goods, ensuring compliance with weight limits and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation as required by law and company policy.
• Adhere to all EU and UK driving regulations, including working time directives.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding route progress and any issues encountered.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license .
• Driver CPC qualification and a valid Digi-card.
• Proven experience as an HGV Class 1 driver, preferably with experience in trunking.
• Excellent driving skills and a strong commitment to safety.
• Good knowledge of road networks across the UK, particularly around Belfast .
• Ability to work independently and manage long hours effectively.
