About the Role

Our client is looking for a qualified and dependable HGV Driver Class 1 to join their busy transport division based in Leeds . This role involves long-distance haulage, ensuring the timely and safe transportation of goods across the UK. You will be operating modern, well-maintained vehicles and will be a key representative of our company to clients and the public. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and professionalism in all aspects of their work, contributing to the smooth operation of our nationwide logistics network.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle for trunking and delivery routes throughout the UK.
• Ensure the safe loading, securing, and unloading of goods.
• Adhere to all drivers' hours regulations and maintain accurate tachograph records.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle.
• Represent the company professionally and provide excellent service to customers at delivery points.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving license.
• Current Driver CPC qualification and valid tachograph card.
• Proven experience driving HGV Class 1 vehicles, with a clean driving record.
• Thorough understanding of UK road transport regulations and Working Time Directive.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
• Good communication skills and a commitment to health and safety standards.
