About the Role

Our client seeks a qualified and dedicated HGV Driver Class 1 to operate heavy goods vehicles across various routes, primarily serving the Cardiff area and surrounding regions. This role is essential for the reliable transport of goods, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups. You will be responsible for the safe operation of your vehicle, adherence to driving hours regulations, and maintaining a professional image for our client. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and compliance within the Welsh transportation sector, contributing significantly to the efficiency and reliability of our client's distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all regulations.
• Plan and manage routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects.
• Securely load and unload goods, ensuring they are handled with care.
• Maintain accurate driver logs and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and the public.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving license.
• Current Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
• Proven experience as an HGV driver , preferably with Class 1 experience.
• Knowledge of road transport regulations, including driving hours.
• Good geographical knowledge of Cardiff and South Wales.
• A commitment to safety, reliability, and professionalism.
