HGV Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their busy workshop in Bristol . This role is crucial for maintaining the operational readiness of their fleet of heavy goods vehicles. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a wide range of HGVs, ensuring they meet all safety and performance standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic checks on HGV engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other mechanical components.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance and servicing according to manufacturer specifications.
• Repair and replace faulty parts, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed on vehicles.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician or mechanic.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency with modern HGV systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Familiarity with the Bristol area’s transport infrastructure is beneficial.
